Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly)

Acentron is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan and coordinate assembly processes, tools, fixtures and equipment for an Automotive Manufacturer in Greer, SC.  Hourly rates range from $27.17 to $33.21 depending on experience.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in an engineering environment or participation in an engineering internship (automotive preferred).
• BS Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred): OR BS degree and the equivalent of 2 years related engineering experience; OR AS degree in Engineering and the equivalent of 2 years related engineering experience.
• Problem investigation and data analysis experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience in assembly and functionality of vehicle systems (electrical, mechanical, modular, and diagnostic) preferred.
• Project leadership/management experience (short and long-term projects).
• German language skills preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and/or leading engineering changes and deviations for assembly.
• Developing, evaluating, and improving assembly process and process methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication process, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.
• Creating and maintaining assembly process sheets.
• Analyzing and planning space requirements and workflow and designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Evaluating product according to specifications and quality standards.
• Estimating production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Leading special projects and/or self-initiated projects for continuous improvement, structural planning and/or other series and new model related planning projects.
• Assisting with analysis on process and quality issues not solvable by production areas.
